"I remember thinking, I'm going to go blind. I think people are almost normalized to pepper spray, you hear about pepper spray a lot, like even as a form of protection for a woman, but I don't think people understand how painful it actually is and how damaging it can be, if not used correctly. For instance, at close range it can cause permanent damage, and it certainly felt like it was. I had never experienced that type of pain.”
